The Adrover Family became established in this area during the 17th century when the danger of raids from North African pirates began to diminish. The house and its family became known as Can Bessol, from the diminutive of "bassa" (little lake). Since that time every generation of the family has lived on the land, adapting to the requirements of each age. In 1997 the two young members of the family, Toni and Jaume, who now own and run the property, started to restore their grandparents' old home including the hayloft, stables and other outbuildings for animals. The original atmosphere and characteristics as well as the furnishings have been preserved in order to offer the charming result as a complementary feature to the agricultural activities. The land is now cultivated ecologically, and the main activities are raising native Mallorcan white sheep and growing almonds, carob and cereals, among others.
